To facilitate dialogue among business owners/executives and thought leaders in innovation, we are excited to launch our Fox Innovation Leadership Speaker Series.
This Forum has a single mission: To transform organizations in the northeastern United States into innovation-driven industry leaders, by turning innovation research into innovation practice. Our speakers are internationally-acclaimed innovation experts who will share their insights in applying proven and effective management tools for firms, large and small.
Topics presented will range from an inspirational bird’s eye view of innovation strategy, to an in-depth examination of operational tools and tactics necessary to help all types of organizations thrive in an innovation economy. Participants from start-ups to established firms, from non-profits to large multinational companies, will be stimulated by the insights gained, benefit from ideas exchanged with fellow executives, and leave with practical tools to transform their organizations. Our speakers are internationally acclaimed innovation experts who will share their experiences in applying leading edge management tools that will transform small and large firms, into more innovative organizations able to respond to rapidly changing markets.
This upcoming Innovation Leadership Speaker Series will feature Professor Michael E. Porter, William Lawrence University Professor, Harvard Business School. Professor Porter is a leading authority on competitive strategy and the competitiveness and economic development of nations, states, and regions, and is the author of 18 books and over 100 articles on the subject. His work is recognized in many governments, corporations and academic circles globally, and his ideas are taught in most business schools around the world. Prof. Porter will address what drives innovation and competitiveness in a region.
He will share his research into the role of regional clusters in job creation, innovation, and entrepreneurship and provide tools to help practitioners and policymakers create successful regional strategies. Prof. Porter will assess the competitiveness of the Philadelphia region and offer implications for the future. Dr. Mercedes Delgado, Assistant Professor of Strategic Management within the Fox School of Business, is a co-researcher on Prof. Porter’s work on innovation clusters and competitiveness, as a team member of a research project funded by the U.S. Economic Development Administration on Mapping Regional Innovation Clusters.
